IIn the quiet and comfort of the studio you will learn to create on canvas the emotion and color of real life. Anne will demonstrate her step by step process for composing a successful studio painting start to finish. A wide range of subject matter will be addressed including figure, cityscape, and landscape. Anne will demonstrate daily. Students will work from their own field studies/photo reference and will receive individual attention based on personal areas of interest. The last day, weather permitting, students will paint en plein air to reinforce the importance of painting from life. Throughout the workshop focus will be placed on solid foundation, design, and color. Additional emphasis will be placed on brushwork, improvisational changes, and problem solving.
